Rostra Gallery springs into action with an audacious and exciting exhibition featuring some of the most important British artists working today. From captivating collage to surreal screen prints The Shock of the New invites you to delve into something different.

About

Highlights include Dan Baldwin’s screen prints, which are bold and beautiful and convey his thoughts and ideas on politics and current affairs. They are multi-layered works that use symbolism and various motifs combined with his excellent use of collage, diamond dust and embossing to create truly stunning pieces of work. Joe Webb uses vintage magazines and printed ephemera that he has collected to create hand made collages. Webb re-invents the imagery to create simple and elegant, yet surreal images that explore love and longing. Webb has proved to be a big success across the globe and most recently collaborated with The Madden Brothers to create the cover art for their album 'Greetings from California'. Barry Reigate joins this strong line up with his screen prints that featured in the Saatchi Gallery's exhibition 'Newspeak:British Art Now'. Reigate's work merges glossy graphic design with strong expressionist mark making. Packed with sinister themes and dark undertones his use of controversial subjects highlight the hypocrisy that surrounds issues such as sexuality, art, race and class.

Jump into an exciting month of new work, bold colours and smart style. The Shock of the New will be on display until 6th April.
