The Shine 2016 selling showcase turns the spotlight on new jewellery, silversmithing and metalwork talent.
About
It brings together thirty-seven of the best up and coming jewellery brands and designer makers from across the UK who are learning to set up their own creative businesses as part of the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s prestigious courses, Setting Out and Getting Started. This showcase introduces you to designer brands which explore new ways of approaching craft and design. These collections aims to inspire and delight; question and challenge and demonstrate true creativity and innovation.
A highlight of the exhibition is the launch of new collections by designer-makers and artists on the Setting Out course. The diverse and award-winning group includes jewellers Ana Thompson, Vicky Lew, Sarah Phillips, Yeena Yoon, Emily Bedford and Sylvia Weidenbach, as well as conceptual artist Chino Ridge. Having spent a year at the Goldsmiths’ Centre, each designer has been nurturing their creative talent, developing their business skill and building their brand with support from expert tutors and industry specialists.
Showcased pieces can be purchased directly from the exhibitors and can be collected at the end of the exhibition.
