The Secret Garden Party, 26th -29th July 2007 This year we are celebrating the renaissance of the event by creating a major outdoor exhibition space, inviting emerging UK and International artists to become SECRET AVANT-GARDENERS. The work of our artists cultivates the conceptual, exploring destination-based practice, working within the challenging context of the open festival locus. Our artists have sundered their work from the static and insulated environment of the conventional gallery space and placed it within the wholly other context of the festival environment - undoubtedly a creative medium in its own right. Inhabited by radical sculptural installations, the curated space of the SGP milieu is an incomplete puzzle where the audience acts as the final piece. We seek to provoke a sensual frisson, as the viewers are merged with the work through their curious-interplays.
