The artist is now one of the most important contemporary representatives of conceptual art in the field of text and image and is on a par with renowned artists such as Jenny Holzer and Lawrence Weiner. In the post-situationist tradition, Robert Montgomery transforms his poetry into images: burning text sculptures, recycled sunlight installations or minimalist black billboards. His political and melancholic lyrics describe the space surrounding the interpersonal relationships in a highly sensitive way. Site-specific installations penetrate the space to allow both the room and the visitor to become part of the work of art.
