About
Explore a wide range of sculptural forms, language, materials and processes. Throughout this Sculpture class the tutor will support you individually to develop your own approach, exploring a wide range of materials and techniques or focusing on a particular area of interest.
For those wishing to explore materials or who are unsure about which materials to use for their sculpture ideas, there is a core course to follow with a number of structured exercises. Those who do not wish to follow the core course can work on their own projects in this class under tutor guidance (You are encouraged to use this class to develop your sculptural or installation based studio practice projects).
Students will be able to:
- Analyse the work of others, applying findings to their own work
- Use of a variety of sculptural materials and processes, applying basic modelling, mould-making and mixed media skills to create a body of sculptural work
- Explore and analyse formal language, (space, line, material, colour, form, scale etc.) in figurative, abstract and conceptual work
- Research, plan and realise a self initiated project
This course is part of our Elective Skills Workshop series. You will be studying alongside students from our pre-degree and degree programmes.
