About

An opportunity to see Mystery River a filmic record of Michael Smiths’ walk from the source of the river Lea to its mouth. Conducted largely on foot Mystery River is a ‘psycho geographic’ journey presenting Smith’s poetic impressions of the Lea and its environment. Mystery River was commissioned by Departure Lounge in 2013 in collaboration with Up Projects and Floating Cinema and co-produced by the University of Bedfordshire. Trevor Horserwood former business director at Departure Lounge will give a brief introductory talk to introduce the project and Luton based artist John Hegley will perform his song about the River Lea after the event.
