An intimate solo exhibition of paintings, exploring nature and feminism, by figurative artist Emily Kirby
About
A new collection of figurative paintings will be going on show at 145 Bethnal Green Road in a pop up solo exhibition of works by Zambian born artist, Emily Kirby.
Emily returns to London with a new series ‘Roaming’, bringing together all new figurative works on paper, board and canvas.
Inspired by the raw emotion and movement of animal wildlife, Emily Kirby’s figurative work is a deep dive investigation of colour and form. Her boldly fragmented and colour-blocked works are influenced by her roots and ongoing trips to Africa.
The 145 Bethnal Green Road Gallery Space is situated opposite the entrance to Brick Lane and will be holding the exhibition opening on the same evening as East London’s ‘First Thursdays’ Arts Trail.
Emily now lives and works in Brighton having recently returned from four years living in Madrid and Cadiz. She is currently represented by the 37d Gallery in Lusaka and her work has been exhibited internationally in cities including New York, Dubai, London, Prague and Lusaka.
