Renowned guitarist Gary Lucas will provide musical accompaniment to Elliott Bristow's legendary Super 8 film diary documenting his 500,000 mile road trip around America from 1968-1980.

About

In 1968 Elliott Bristow went to New York for a two week holiday. In 1980, after twelve years and 500,000 miles on the road in America, he returned to his native England with three trunks containing 75 hours of silent Super 8 film. The resulting film archive has achieved legendary cult status. Gary Lucas will accompany a selection of this footage in multi-panel projection.

Gary Lucas is the leader of the supergroup Gods and Monsters, whose alumni include Jeff Buckley, Jerry Harrision (Talking Heads), Billy Ficca (Television) and Ernie Brooks (Modern Lovers). He has performed or recorded with Captain Beefheart, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, and many others.

This performance accompanies Cynthia Daignault's solo exhibtion Light Atlas, which documents the artist's own cross country expedition in 2015.
