A digital conversation with Wiktoria Kijowska and Mohamad Aaqib Anvarmia; we will be discussing the influence of traditional designs on their artwork, questioning what early-career support is needed.

About

You are invited to join us for a zoom discussion about contemporary craft and making, with two East Midlands based early-career creatives.

Free tickets are avalible for the digital event, on Wednesday 8th September 2021, at 7pm.

No Jobs in the Arts will be in conversation with Wiktoria Kijowska and Mohamad Aaqib Anvarmia; we will be discussing the influence that traditional designs have on their artwork. We are inviting early-career artists, creatives, makers, and craftspeople, people working in the arts, and anyone with an interest in making, to join us for an evening exploring traditional influences, and questioning ‘what support is needed for early-career makers working in the East-Midlands?’.

Tickets are free. The short event will last 40-minutes, and it will not be recorded.

We will talk to Wiktoria about ‘Polish Folklor’ - her recent collection of flower vases, inspired by the traditional Polish folk craft of cut-outs, from Łowicz. Aaqib will share his experience creating intricate, multi-layered, mandala-like art pieces, inspired by Islamic arts and architecture.
