About
Following on from last year’s Reet Maff’l’s Introduction of The (Your) Mind Part One performed as part of Word Gulch at the Barbican’s Curve space, Reet Maff’l will create two durational performances for the Art Licks Weekend 2017, inside the domestic-setting-cum-Brain-Centre of 38b. Touching on ideas of pseudo-science, cults, and the world of self-help cassettes – which provide alternative solutions for how to live your life – both the opening evening and first day of the festival will feature long-form performances, inviting audiences to drop in and out throughout, as a semi-improvised and recorded spoken word and synth guide to unlocking the parts of your mind that other art forms just can’t reach. These will be recorded and played in-situ for the rest of the festival within the Brain Centre.
