Talented watercolourist and oil painter Angela Scott will be showcasing her landscapes in the Granary Art Gallery throughout September for a selling exhibition. Her scenes are lively with warm colours and convey a sense of movement, brightening up any home.
Working from sketchbook studies and drawings to generate her paintings, Angela builds up layers of washes of watercolour to her, often adding pastel to give extra depth and dimension.
The result image is an evolved one, which can be completely different from the original observation. Hills and structures within her paintings are altered from reality in order to give a strong sense of shape and perspective.
Angela has exhibited widely around the UK in Galleries within Wales, Newcastle, Bristol, Somerset and London. She won first prize in the âBlack Sheep Gallery' Chester Open Contemporary Exhibition in 2000 and won first prize at the Oswestry Open in 2004.
Angela Scott's exhibition runs throughout September in the Granary Art Gallery.
