Between Alessandra d'Urso and
Palermo it was love at first sight.
Palermo
is widely considered to be a city of great
contrasts, a place where beauty
and history collide in a brutal and
magical way. It was out of this very
particular tuning that the project
“Primordiale” was born -
About
a series of
photographs shot at the Botanical
Gardens conceived for the
contemporary
and modern art museum of Palermo,
where the the first exhibit took place.
These photographs, some taken with an old Polaroid from the 1970s, are confronting us with something greater than ourselves, suggesting a distant memory linked to the force of the elements of nature, perfect and fascinating. In these images the artist succeeds in capturing the “primordial” essence of nature, giving life to architectures of unimaginable beauty. They are a sort of 'carnet de voyage' into primordial nature, which includes plants that look like mountains, leaves that resemble prehistoric animals, tree barks that appear like a rivulet of a river in the desert or antique exotic fabrics.
