- A number of bus services run from the city centre to the Parkinson Building. Take bus numbers 1, 6, 28, 56, or 97. Ask for the “Parkinson steps” bus stop.
- The galleries are 1.1 miles from Leeds Railway Station. The station is about a 20-minute walk, 15-minute bus ride, or 10-minute taxi ride away from the Parkinson Building.

The launch event will include readings by the five poets shortlisted for the Brotherton Poetry Prize.
The first Brotherton Poetry Prize attracted over four hundred entries. The five shortlisted poets, Pete Green, Maeve Henry, Dane Holt, Majella Kelly and Robyn Maree Pickens, will read selections from the poetry included in the Anthology published by Carcanet Press.
In its inaugural year The Brotherton Poetry Prize was open to anyone in the world over the age of 18 who hadn’t yet published a full collection of poems. The judges were Simon Armitage - Poet Laureate, Malika Booker, Melvyn Bragg, Stella Butler, Vahni Capildeo, and John Whale - Director of the University of Leeds Poetry Centre.
This event will take place at The Workshop Theatre, University of Leeds, Leeds, LS2 9JT.
