contemporary photography exhibition with five artists
Position is a term from portrait painting / photography. The photographer puts someone [or something here] in position. The aim is to find a position of the person to be served that is intended for the purpose. “Purpose-specific” means that photographers tend to have a significant influence on photography by choosing their position. Something to position someone is a compositional act. This creates a scenery that at best creates a narrative in the viewer. Putting something in position is thus the first step in the staging. The artists in this exhibition interpret the concept of "attitude" photographically in a variety of ways. The artists each have an individual photographic working method and variety of topics to discover. The fundamental intention of the attitude, which stands in the way of any documentary approach, is the connecting element in these photographic works of this exhibition. Charmaine de Heij, Sebastian Neubauer, Aline Papenheim, Helge H. Paulsen and Jean D. Sikiaridis are represented with their works in this exhibition. The name Positur # 1 already indicates that this exhibition concept can be continued with contemporary artistic photography, so an exhibition series could be created, the surcharge of which begins with the first part.
