About

Artists from Italy, Slovenia and Bosnia & Herzegovina will be showing work alongside Cambridge artists this January for PLACE: Relinking, Relating, Relaying. The exhibition, at The Ruskin Gallery at Anglia Ruskin University and Gallery 9, will feature an exciting and varied range of contemporary artworks and in the current political climate takes a very timely look at themes of boundaries and borders, belonging and connection, relations and exchanges.

Amongst many highlights there will be a new linguistic soundscape by Andreja Džakušič, a painted alphabet by Barbara Stefani, and a series of video 'Doodle Walks' by Susi Gutierrez. Artist Veronique Chance, who is also Course Leader for MA Fine Art at Anglia Ruskin University, will run from London to Cambridge and her progress will be tracked as part of an artwork in the Ruskin Gallery.

There will be also be a range of projects in which members of the public can participate, including a collaborative painting devised by Maja Rubinic, and a postcard project by Jo Miller.

Participating artists include: Adriana Torregrossa, Andreja Džakušič, Barbara Stefani, Carlo Andreasi, Dalibor Nikolic, Elisa Vladilo, Guillermo Giampietro and Radio Fragola, Jo Miller, Maja Rubinic, Neil Horsefield, Nerma Cridge, Sara Lerota, Simon Macuh, Susi Gutiérrez, Veronique Chance.
