Ruth Padel, Somerset House Writer in Residence, has invited six eminent writers from different genres to give a series of exclusive talks about their favourite painting in The Courtauld Gallery. Philip Pullman - Thu 20 Nov Hisham Matar - Wed 26 Nov Julia Neuberger - Thu 4 Dec Colm Toibin - Wed 10 Dec Jackie Kay - Thu 15 Jan Gillian Beer - Wed 21 Jan Each writer has chosen a work that particularly engages, challenges, provokes or delights them, and will present their personal reflections during a talk for a small audience, directly in front of the painting. This will be followed by a book signing and chance to meet the writer.
