About
The Brick Lane Gallery is proud to present PHOTOGRAPHY NOW, an exhibition dedicated to celebrate a mix of talented local and international photographers. Including representation from Denmark, Spain The Netherlands and the UK, these photographers have come together to remind us of the diverse possibilities and dialogues that can be created through a camera.
This exhibition shows a wide collection of subject matters. Al Brydon presents “As We Wander”, a series, which is about the solidity of our surroundings and our own fluidity through time. He sees himself a visitor for an all too brief time. He will end, we will end but the landscape will remain. Antoinette Clare Mallon’s work is simplistic in style and is inspired by colour and form. Her playful and vibrant works explore processed food and how it is not what it seems. Lucy Yates invites us to reflect on fine Art Nude, a popular topic in the art-scene that has progressed from paintings to photographs. Mainly created under the influence of the male gaze, this genre of art often features females portraying their natural beauty… so she questions what happens when you replace the subject with a male?
You are warmly invite you to join us for a drink with the artists at the opening night of PHOTOGRAPHY NOW at The Brick Lane Gallery – The Annexe open from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 16th September 2015.
