At ]performance s a l o n [ they will present a screening of their performance-based movie trilogy 'sinà¢ËŠ¾fin The Movie', produced between 2010 and 2012 in outstanding locations such as Antarctica, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, India and Kashmir. In this project, VestAndPage combine the ephemeral art form of Performance with filmmaking for a movie outside any filmic genre, an art project set between reality and vision to stimulate reflection on our common, conflictive contemporary situation.
The artists will be present for an audience Q&A after the screening.
Verena Stenke and Andrea Pagnes have been working together under the name of VestAndPage in Performance art, filmmaking, visual art, writing and as independent curators since 2006, presenting their works, recordings and live performances across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Their work originates from a here-and-now interpretation of the fragility of the individual and its surroundings, researching private, social and environmental spheres through precariousness, transformation, liminality and authenticity.
The film's episodes have been screened among others at MAT Museo de Arte Tigre, Buenos Aires; FILE Electronic Language International Festival, Sao Paulo; Museo de Arte Moderno, Santo Domingo; Ex Teresa Arte Actual, Mexico City; CCCD Centre for Community Cultural Development, Hong Kong; CCEBA Centro Cultural de Espana, Buenos Aires; Cine Tonala, Mexico City; Alchemy Film Festival, Hawick UK; X° Festival de Cine en Patagonia, Chile; Chateau Cac Centre de Arte Contemporaneo, Cordoba Argentina; Galeria de Arte Contemporaneo, Xalapa, Mexico; PingPong Artspace, Taipei.
