"People in the City" will present works of 400 photographers from over 50 different countries, each with their own unique interpretation of the interaction between people and an urban setting. The photographies will be shown as prints as well as on screens.

"People in the City" will present works of 400 photographers from over 50 different countries, each with their own unique interpretation of the interaction between people and an urban setting. The photographies will be shown as prints as well as on screens.
Bridge-building between the virtual and the tangible world, the exhibition is concepted by GuruShots, a online platform that connects and inspires hundreds of thousands of photographers from around the world. The Gurushots platform provides themed challenges (in this case: „People in the City“) in which photographers can participate with their pictures, at the same time vote for the pictures they like best and by receiving votes climb the platforms ranking system. GuruShots is using a combination of crowd-sourced curation and a special GuruShots expert panel to select the best images, which are now shown in the Berlin exhibition.
The exhibition also features some Berlin photographers as: Daniel Anhut, Isabelle Bommes and Lukas Proszowski.
People in the City (Menschen in der Stadt)
In der Ausstellung „People in the City“ (Menschen in der Stadt) zeigen 400 Photographen aus über 50 verschiedenen Ländern ihre Interpretation der Interaktion von Menschen und einem urbanen Setting. Die Photographien werden sowohl als Prints als auch auf Bildschirmen gezeigt.
Die Ausstellung versteht sich als Brückenschlag zwischen der virtuellen und der greifbaren Welt und wurde konzipiert von GuruShots, einer Online Platform, auf der sich hunderttausende Photographen aus aller Welt verbinden, gegenseitig inspirieren und in sogenannten „Challenges“ (Herausforderungen) bewerten. Auch die Ausstellung „People in the City“ hat Ihren Ursprung in einer solchen Challenge: Jeder Teilnehmer lud seine besten Bilder auf die Platform, diejenigen mit der höchsten Bewertung erhielten einen Platz in der Ausstellung. Neben einem Experten-Gremium der Website GuruShots hat die Kuration der Ausstellung also größtenteils die Crowd (Menge der Website-Nutzer) übernommen.
In der Ausstellung werden auch Arbeiten einiger Berliner Photographen vertreten sein: Daniel Anhut, Isabelle Bommes und Lukas Proszowski.
