For MADDER139 Pantani-Surace will use the architectural traits of the gallery space to instigate their works, producing three site-specific installations that will play with the given space.
The gallery will be subtly transformed by Pantani-Surace's interventions that create 'living' and 'breathing' installations that evolve throughout the course of each day and the duration of the show. Air, water, light and reflections are the elements that are manipulated by the artists resulting in artworks that are both delicate and poignant.
Pantani-Surace (Lia Pantani & Giovanni Surace) have shown extensively throughout Italy, including the new Nosadella Due Foundation in Bologna, as part of a new residency base for established Italian artists and at the 2005 ARTissima in Turin. The exhibition at Madder139 will be their first UK solo show.
