Outsiderwear is a project in which talented Outsider artists are connected to emerging and established fashion designers and artists, or Insiders. An Outsider is an artist with, for example, a mental or physical disability, a psychiatric or homeless background.

In the coming months, they will jointly work towards a cooperative streetwear capsule collection and various exhibitions. The results of the collaborations can be seen and is for sale from November 2020 on. From the 20th of November until the 31st of December, the Outsiderwear Festival will take place at four locations in Amsterdam: Outsider Art Galerie, Patta Store, gallery Vriend van Bavink and Zeedijk60. Expos, shop-in-shops, an activist photo campaign, tours and talks bring the world of Outsiders and Insiders together in a stimulating way.
There is more and more attention for Outsider art: they have museums, biennials and galleries of their own, however the world of Outsider art rarely reaches the mainstream creative industry. Outsiderwear wants to break this dichotomy, because many Outsiders deserve to become Insiders and deep down, many Insiders are Outsiders too.
