Three independent poetry workshops exploring the beauty and complexity of love. An alternative experience for Valentines with poet and therapist (in training) Hayley Frances.
About
Write & frame a love poem in one of the following workshops with Hayley Frances, founder of Odeheart; the practice of creative writing (*self-authorship) as a therapeutic medium. We use poetry to translate emotion to understand and validate the human experience.
Choose from;
The *SELF LOVE* workshop 10.30 - 13.00;
Pour yourself into a *poem* & mount it as a work of art.
The *GRIEF IS LOVE session 14.00 - 16.30;
Honour the love you hold in grief through poetry.
The *LOVERS&FRIENDS* session 17.30 - 19.00;
Pen a poem for a lover or friend & frame it as a gift of love.
Each workshop follows the same structure with prompts, poems, and atmosphere altered to suit each theme. Participants can expect guided meditations, free-flow writing, intention setting, group connection, poetry prompts, biblio-poetry therapy, art supplies, frames, refreshments, and soundscapes inspired by the heart.
What to expect;
1* Pen a love poem.
2* Make it pretty.
3* Frame it.
We'll begin with a heart-opening exercise and free-flow self-writing to set our intention to love, connect with our hearts, and invite the healing energy of love to ignite our creativity. We'll continue by responding to a series of writing prompts that give our intuition a voice through metaphor and story. We'll explore the love we share, our connection to self, our relationships and deepen our awareness of the love in our hearts to create a poem of your very own!
In the second part of the workshop, we'll edit our poems into works of art and mount them into frames as a gift this love season.
There are no rules in this workshop. Though there are poetry forms, all poems are welcome here, whether mantras, reminders, interpretations, sonnets, statements, lyrics or letters (though I may ban red roses and blue violets).
Invest in a spot at www.odehe.art/love or go to the ticket page directly;

*We'll provide all art supplies, a typewriter, a printer for those who would like to type and print their poems, and frames for the finished pieces. There will also be refreshments and a breakout room.
**Everyone of every ability is welcome, especially those who've never written a poem before and want to start or continue a self-love practice.
