art space to open, Olympia Club.

About

SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA (Saturday, May 18, 2019) - A new block of galleries and art activity is in development on Ocean Park Boulevard in Santa Monica.

dnj Gallery, bG Gallery, Olympia Club,  Gestalt Projects and 144 Space will have receptions on Saturday, May 18th, from 5-8pm, to celebrate the continuing renovations of this block and showcase new work.

Dynamic and engaging exhibits, a series of educational programs and other visual and performing arts events will occur this spring.  Located in between 30th and 31st Street on Ocean Park Boulevard, the block aims to engage the local neighborhood and Santa Monica Business Park in its programming, while hosting an exhibit schedule that will also bring art patrons to the area from afar.

“We have had a great reaction from local business and the surrounding neighborhood.  They are becoming involved and active in gallery events. We are looking forward to this exciting collaboration of combining the arts.  This part of Santa Monica was chosen not only because it is a great intersection between Santa Monica and the rest of the Westside, but it also contains numerous dining choices, ease of parking for our collectors, and foot traffic from the residential companies across the street.  This area is actually ideal for art galleries in an increasingly challenging real estate market,” says Om Bleicher of bG Gallery, who has begun programing at 3009 Ocean Park Boulevard.

“We’re continuing an education program to coincide with our exhibitions for Los Angeles area schools and organizations.  This program is meant to add a passion for learning and enhance focus through art. In exposing students to art, we wish to provide writing, visual and spatial skills with artist talks, lectures, speakers and conversations ,” stated Pamela Schoenberg, the owner/director of dnj Gallery.  “Currently, we are organizing classes with The Los Angeles Center of Photography, have participation within other clubs and venues, but are willing to arrange alternate events with the public if interested.”

She then explained, “We are also scheduling with other arts organizations to expand our involvement within the community.  In collaborating  with other creative organizations to bring more events to the neighborhood, we provide outreach for all, and appeal to different audiences.  As one other group stated, "We envision a world where our commitment to a collaborative artistic process results in profound performances that inspire people to pursue cooperation and artistry in their own creative, professional and personal lives.”

The full roster of galleries and events on the block are yet to be announced. Information will be updated at the website OceanParkArtBlock.com .
