The L-shaped architecture of Galerie Wedding's main space will be swooshed. Two horn systems (2,3m high) that were developed for this particular space will be placed at the front walls, transforming the municipal art space into a seemingly unending movement.
Until the romantic era there was nothing but the swoosh of the trees, of the sea – it swooshed and inebriated, and it is not by chance that the German words swoosh (“Rauschen”) and inebrity (“Rausch”) share the same roots. In the digital age of mass communication, there is still more to the swoosh than being the disturbed opposite of the signal, which seems to have been overcome with digitalization and may only have an indexical quality nowadays.
