During this six-week course you will be introduced to various etching methods such as hard ground, soft ground and aquatint, using non-toxic materials.
About
A hard ground is drawn through with a needle and gives a pen like quality. A soft ground line has the character of a soft pencil or crayon; textures can be imprinted into the surface using materials such as lace, gauze or dry foliage.
As well as gaining an understanding of safe etching and using copper sulphate etching solution, participants will also produce a series of prints over the duration of the course.
Suitable for beginners and those wishing to improve their skills. Light refreshments and all materials will be provided but workshoppers might find it helpful to bring a sketchbook for ideas.
