A combination of printmaking and painting, Nicole Coson’s second solo exhibition, 'Process of Elimination', at Display Gallery recomposes a rock arrangement through a breakdown of its elements.

About

Display Gallery is very excited to announce that Nicole Coson’s second solo exhibition at the gallery will open next Thursday 02 June.  Following her exploration of captured phantoms and flash constructions, Nicole Coson’s practice builds upon the way such impressions develop in the mind. Here, stone against sand are like clouds against sky, where the instinct to “make sense” of such formations is a generative but ultimately misleading exercise.

Coson works in a variety of mediums, but with a primary focus on analogue printmaking methods and techniques. The suggestion of movement is integral to her work, with a constant shifting of familiar signals resulting in a refracted version of something recognisable. Her work has been widely published and recent solo exhibitions include, ‘Process of Elimination’ at Finale Art File, Philippines, ‘Spirit Captures’  at West Gallery, Philippines, and ‘How to Appear without a Trace’ at Display Gallery.
