Chris Beetles Gallery is bringing together a collection of over thirty works by Jersey artist Nicholas Romeril. In a spectacular collision of boulders and foaming waves, Romeril's paintings of the Channel Islands are full of atmosphere and energy.
About
Chris Beetles Gallery, located in the heart of St James’s on Ryder Street is bringing together over 30 works of Nicholas Romeril's majestic seascapes in an exhibition titled 'Over Sea'. This event is the third Romeril exhibition held by the gallery, and his return marks the artist's exploration with his home turf: Jersey in the Channel Islands.
Nicholas Romeril attended Camberwell College between 1988 and 1993, where he developed a close association with the Britart scene of the early 1990s. After a few years working in London he was drawn back to Jersey in 1996 setting up a studio there.
Since 1996 Nicholas Romeril has held regular exhibitions in Jersey and London, and since 2009 has held solo shows in Switzerland and France. He has also produced a number of sculptures - one of which is included in the gallery's exhibition.
