Next Wave 2020 is a biennial mentoring and career development programme for early-career artists based in the Midlands.

About

Next Wave 2020 is a biennial mentoring and career development programme for early-career artists based in the Midlands. Championing skill, diversity and craftmanship whilst addressing pertinent issues and trends within contemporary practice, the exhibition includes painting, drawing, print, sculpture, installation and photography.

The Next Wave programme is targeted towards artists who have graduated within the last 10 years and provides them with the time and space to develop their artistic practice via the exhibition, guidance provided, and related events.

The exhibition has been selected and curated by artist Annette Pugh ARBSA and RBSA Gallery Director Sanna Moore.

Following an application and selection process, 11 artists have been chosen for the Next Wave exhibition: Haseebah Ali, Julie Chambers, Ewan Johnston, Darius Martisus, Ella Oakley, Rita Rodner, Kathryn Sawbridge, Daniela Turbin, Oli Turnpenney, Jodie Wingham and Leigh Whurr.

There will be an opening reception on Wednesday 19th February from 6pm till 8pm.

There will be an artists talk on Saturday 29th February, starting at 2pm.

Next Wave 2020 is sponsered by Galliard Homes and Apsley House Capital
