1 to 11 October Nestled consists of a series of black & white and colour photographs, in which individuals interact with the surrounding space and environment, in a humorous and daring way. Carrying a heavy medium format Pentacon SIX TL with them on a month-long trip around Europe, Anna and Olga sought out unusual locations with which to interact. Unlike most tourists, they were not looking for familiar landmarks to photograph, but spaces in which they could interact and frame their bodies: the feet of larger than life statues; hedges; grooves on a flyover pillar; and spaces between stacked crates. The photographs encourage a more playful consideration of our immediate environments, and recall childhood games. Viewfinder curator Louise Forrester comments: I love the idea of adults continuing to play street games, of assessing street furniture in such an unusual and often funny way. This promises to be a very exciting and refreshing exhibition."
