Narruchmat Widyasena: After Einstein Rosen Bridge

After Einstein Rosen Bridge is an exhibition by Indonesian artist Nurrachmat ‘Ito’ Widyasena, which follows on from his one month residency at Bluecoat in February 2019. Whilst at Bluecoat Widyasena spent time addressing concerns around space travel and the national myths surrounding the history and future of space exploration.
Widyasena also developed new works at Bluecoat and widened his practice to include ideas around science-fiction and time travel. During his research Widyasena travelled to Jodrell Bank, The National Space Centre and Stonehenge along with visits to arts organisations to meet with new networks and share his ideas. 

Widyasena has exhibited widely across Indonesia and South East Asia, including exhibitions in Singapore (Mizuma Gallery and the South East Asia Pavilion), Malaysia (G13 Gallery and Chandan Gallery) and Taiwan (Art Taipei at the Taipei World Trade Center). His work was recently exhibited in the 14th Jogya Biennial in Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2017). His past work has involved collaborations with other artists and scientists, most notably working with Indonesia’s national space agency, LAPAN.
