For Fabrica’s winter 2020 commission, the huge glass windows of Fabrica’s East façade are transformed into a canvas for a projection-based exploration of the Brighton starling murmurations that can be enjoyed from outside after dark.
About
This winter Fabrica will be presenting a specially commissioned, moving image artwork by Shared Space and Light. This will be the first ever work to utilise our Neo-Gothic Grade II listed facade by transforming the huge stained glass windows into a canvas for a projection-based exploration of Brighton’s starling murmurations.
As winter 2020-21 heralds Fabrica’s 25th Anniversary, we see this as an exciting new opportunity to commission a fun, engaging and highly visible artwork for passers-by in Brighton’s South Lanes, which can be enjoyed in spite of the current Tier 4 restrictions.
During the winter months you will be able to see and enjoy Murmurations from outside the gallery by looking up at the building's facade on Ship Street after dark.
This exhibition has been made possible by The Cultural Recovery Fund.
