About
The Anton Art Center invites visual art submissions for Motherhood, a juried visual art exhibition featuring works of varying media on the complexity of motherhood. Artists respond to how mothering affects a person’s body, mind, and identity, how motherhood influences creative work or vice versa, or to generally address the topic of motherhood as it pertains to them.
Artists may submit up to three original entries. Open to parents and non-parents alike, regardless of gender, marital status, sexual orientation, parental stage, number of living or deceased biological, step, foster, or adopted children, etc. All media accepted, including but not limited to photography, ink, graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, paint, mixed media, fiber, stone, wood, metal, new media, ceramic, paper, collage, printmaking, glass, jewelry, performance, non-traditional, etc.
Digital submission(s), entry form, and entry fee must be received by July 5th, 2018, by 5:00PM EST, to be eligible for jurying (please note the building will be closed July 1-4). Motherhood is juried by the Anton Art Center exhibition committee, with nearly $1000 in prizes. Accepted artwork will be on display in the gallery and eligible for awards.
