Moscow Partisan Conceptualism

About

On 25 March 2010 Orel Art UK will launch a museum-quality show of Russian Conceptualist art. The exhibition will feature Russian artist Pavel Pepperstein's latest installation piece, 'Souz-Apollo' , based on a well-known Conceptualist poem and accompanied by rap - one the artist's key signatures. Another highlight will be his drawings from the 1980s - some depicting Lenin as an anti-hero - which have never been shown in the UK before. His works will be paired with those by fellow Conceptualist artist Irina Nakhova (who was influenced by Pepperstein's father, illustrator Victor Pivovarov), who will unveil her most recent works including SKINS , a silk and tattoos installation which comes to life through a series of stories ridden with black humour. The show is curated by Margarita and Viktor Tupitsyn, curators of the Rodchenko and Popova exhibition held at Tate last year.
