Goldwater’s work is one of contrasts in both medium + method. The application of collage + loose mark-making celebrate the immediacy of her practice, while the timely construction of form through printed layers sit in-line with traditional printmaking. Goldwater describes her practice as a mixture of applications which amplify the varying speeds involved in the making of her work; some actions slow, methodical + meditated, others fast + impulsive. The resulting work accentuate the different qualities achieved through mixing printmaking and draughtsmanship processes and the juxtaposing of these elements are key throughout her work.
