About

Workshop with Ann Hackett RBSA

Learn exciting new ways to create beautiful imagery inspired by the natural world using various paints alongside everyday items such as string, tea and coffee.

Ideal for beginners yet suitable for all abilities.

Ann is a successful artist working mainly in flower painting, but as a tutor of art covers a range of subjects. She works in ink and watercolour, but chooses the medium to suit the subject. Ann began her career studying at the Walsall College of Art. She is a Tutor of Drawing, Painting & Creative Arts. Ann comes from an artistic background teaching Arts & Crafts in varying forms, and Garden design at the School of Continuing Studies at Birmingham University. She works in ink and watercolour, but chooses the medium to suit the subject. Her work is experimental using various mediums, including inks, watercolour and collage, mainly working with natural subjects and influenced by sculptural shapes and forms, the skeletal form and transparency of a flower, and the movement and influence of light. She uses Inks and watercolours to capture the colour and vibrancy of the subject and often uses collage to enhance areas of the work.
