The one day course will introduce you to the soft, subtle gradations of Mezzotint.
About
Working with a ready rocked black plate you will use a tool called a burnisher to smooth away indentations to create light and tone. This process produces beautifully rich black prints with a characteristic dark, smoky quality.
About the Tutor – Sue Baker Kenton
Sue specialises in drawing, etching and lithography and her primary subject is the figure. She is a visual arts tutor at City Lit, London and is a director of Buckingham Arts Modern and Contemporary. She has just completed Practical Dialogue, her 2013 residency project at LPW and is currently working with the artist Nicole Polonsky as joint co-ordinator of Ghost[ed] a stone lithography project due to launch in May 2015.
