This is the artist’s debut of works on paper and new media in New York.

Keane presents compositions that explore the landscape of hopeful longing amidst the ever-present strangeness and solitude of the human experience. "Xαρμολύπη" (Charmolipi) is a compound word in Greek that is traditionally translated to "joy and sorrow." The closest expression in English is "mixed feelings."

First and foremost a painter, Keane has long had a closely guarded, personal drawing and printmaking practice. The throughline between her paintings and works on paper, however, has remained constant: a persistent investigation into the intimate, vulnerable, vital, and strange in life.
