Mas Transformation

The Mas Transformation art exhibition examines Masquerade as an expression of identity and a means of re-possessing the self. The concept of Mas as ritualised form can be found at the W3 gallery (185, High St, W3 9DJ). The mixed media exhibition includes work created by selected artists experienced in the art of carnival: Sculptural work reveals the symbolic representation of Mas including mask and installation; 2D art explores identity and displacement; photography expresses dramatic visual representation; and audio sound bites create the cultural heart beat.
