CON FUOCO - new work by MARGARET ASHMAN
About
We are delighted to welcome Margaret Ashman back to THE HEPSIBAH GALLERY. In the time since she showed here last Margaret Ashman's star...already in it's ascendancy...has shone more brightly and we thought had outgrown this space in West London because in the meantime she has been invited to show in all the International Biennales, Trienalles of repute known to living man! And flushed with International success and a Tour in China she returns to shine in our corner of West London. The work is simply delicious. Powerful. Romantic. Beautiful.
Take this exhibition seriously. Make a point of visiting as you would a big exhibition of note at Tate Britain or The Royal Academy. This is the best of Printmaking. Take this rare opportunity.....

Statement by Margaret Ashman.ARE
My latest work has a new voice of passion and feeling. I photographed David Bower and Isolte Avila performing a tempestuous dance piece called 'Here' from which she has created a series of powerful photo etchings. The works respond to different passages of the dance which progress through energetic, rythmic jazz steps to tender embraces to slow standoffs.
Whilst âHere' is performed to music, David cannot hear the music as he is profoundly deaf. The dance incorporates signdance ' a combination of dance and sign.
There will also be work featuring the Japanese dancer, Chisato Minamimura.
David Bower is best known for his acting role in the iconic film Four Weddings and a Funeral
