The Herbert has a whole host of exciting things you can participate in or simply enjoy as a seasonal treat. We have local craft makers, choirs and artists who are all on hand to offer you a unique and engaging family Christmas atmosphere. By coming along and meeting our community of inspiring local artists and crafts people you can not only buy their handmade and ethical wares but also get involved by making gifts for that special someone. Treat your taste buds to mulled wine or the scent of a cinnamon pastry, exercise your brains with our stimulating artist led workshops to make your own Christmas wreaths, amuse your children with make and take wrapping workshops or entertain your ears with some of the region's best choirs. Indulge yourself with something different this festive season with us here at the Herbert! Making Merry is sure to excite every age and every one of your senses with flamboyant festive feast of fun for all your family and friends. Choir Performances Enjoy seasonal performances from some of the region's best choirs including; ensemble 1685, Free Harmony, Silver Lining, Soulful, and World Song. Times to be confirmed, check back for details. Scratch Choir FREE 10.30am — 3.30pm, bring lunch to share Come along and join a FREE singing workshop run by Una May Olomolaiye of the famous WorldSong choir. Have a new experience full of camaraderie and fun, plus should you wish, join members of WorldSong in a rousing short performance! Booking is essential. Wreath Making £10 includes all materials Session 1: 11.00am — 1.00pm Session 2: 2.00pm — 4.00pm Create your own beautiful festive decoration in this artist led workshop. You'll learn a great new skill, have fun and keep the basic materials for next year. Booking is essential. All of this will make this year's event truly special. Guaranteed to be more entertaining than the joke in your Christmas cracker!
