Making Art from Plastic Beach Litter

Local artist/writer Wendy Constance will be demonstrating the progression from collecting plastic-based litter on local beaches to producing decorative art with disturbing messages. Messages about how discarded mass-produced plastic – much of it single-use – harms wildlife, the environment, and ultimately humans. The demonstration is also an introduction to a proposed workshop-based event at the Tower next year including: short presentation about plastic pollution; its effect on marine life; beach-combing; creating a group piece of artwork for the local community.
