About
TINTYPE is pleased to announce that Lucia Quevedo’s You’ll thank me later, promise is this year’s Summer Window Installation.
In her sculptural work, Lucia Quevedo adopts the traits of cartoons and adverts, with commonplace food products such as cheese and sliced meat presented as absurd, curious wonders.
In You'll thank me later, promise Quevedo portrays cold-cut meat - slices of chorizo and salami so overly familiar that we tend to overlook their graphic quality. Their shades of pink and white are mimicked through the artist's use of silicon, transforming the sausage's texture into visual patterns much like a mosaic or stained glass.
You'll thank me later, promise is curated by Adriënne Groen.
