About

This exhibition showcases works of art from the Southwark art collection, highlighting the lost heritage of one of London's most historic boroughs. Over the last 200 years, the physical landscape of Southwark has gone through major changes. In the 18th and 19th centuries, great movements of people came from the countryside to London and what was then the rural county of Surrey was transformed as fields and farmland turned into houses and factories. ‘Lost Southwark' will give the visitor an opportunity to glimpse into the past and to revisit a cityscape that either no longer exists or has been radically altered. The Cuming Museum Old Town Hall, 151 Walworth Road, London SE17 1RY Admission free Tel No: 020 7525 2332 Train & Tube: Elephant & Castle Buses: 12-35-40-45-68-171-176-468-P5 The museum is fully wheelchair accessible
