For one day, Hoxton’s Standpoint Studios opens its doors to offer visitors unlimited access to the gallery and studio spaces, talk to the artists, view their work and explore their various methods of making.
About
The space comprises Paupers Press printmaking studio, New North Press letterpress studio, Nicola Tassie and Stuart Carey’s ceramic studios, Peter Jones’ painting studio and the Standpoint Gallery, currently exhibiting the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award winner for 2015, hybrid ceramic sculptor Kate Lyddon. The Standpoint Residency Studio is home to visiting resident artist model-maker Collette Rayner.
The open studios will take place from 12pm to 3pm, and there will be a talk covering how to set up an artist-run space, the relationship between exhibiting and making, and current craft/arts practice.
