A series of meticulously executed abstract, colourfield paintings inspired by the desire to reduce and simplify. The viewer is challenged to take time and engage with a visual language that proposes a multi-coloured harmony and a resolute aesthetic clarity. This recent work aims to convey various sensations corresponding with the everyday impressions of experience and begins with a ‘colour chart' of colours directly drawn from the 'nature' of life or the 'locale'. Inspired by artists such Josef and Anni Albers, Jeremy Moon, Maija Isola and Robyn Denny.
