Come & learn to lino print with artist Emily Vanns.
This beginners workshop is open to anyone that would like to learn how to make a simple lino cut that can be printed in black and white, or in block colours.
In this one day workshop, you will learn how to transfer a drawing onto a lino block, use cutting tools safely to make a variety of marks and print your design onto paper.
You will get to leave the workshop with your lino block that you can experiemnt with at home to make prints, cards and more. You will also be able to take home your finished prints from the day.
The theme of the workshop is storytelling. Work from one of the wonderful stories we have collected for •Tell•, HEWING WITTARE's latest exhibition or bring your own story to the table as inspiration for your very own lino cut.
Plenty of inspiration will be provided but feel free to bring any drawings, pictures or stories with you that you may wish to work from.
Please wear something that you don't mind getting ink on.
£20 will include all the tools, materials & support you need plus refreshments.
(minimum 3 hours needed, with a finish time of 3pm depending on how detailed you would like to make your print)
