An exhibition of drawings and accompanying material detailing the new design of the Lin'an History Museum, by architects Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu.
About
The Bartlett presents a showcase of the latest work by Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu, from their iconic new design of the Lin’an History Museum in Hangzhou, China.
An ambitious project, across a meandering complex on the site of the childhood playground of former Wuyue king, Qian Liu (842 – 932), this project is inspired by the notion of landscape. The site's plan and various interconnecting structures draw on the art of Chinese landscape painting and simultaneously respond to the natural and cultural setting.
The work displayed includes initial sketches, drawings and photographs of the site. There will also be VR headsets available to experience the museum site in virtual reality.
