Life in the Vessel
About
work by Morley Hillcurated by Sandra Sykorova
Life in the Vessel by Morley Hill daunts us with its vagueness. As we immerse ourselves within its landscape echoing the works of H.P. Lovecraft, we desire to understand and interpret it and yet its openness and lack of definition makes us fail to do so. Inspired by past and future journeys into the unknown, this work is about opening possibilities and questions but also about experiencing confinement, boredom and isolation that can drive one to utter madness. Incorporating diverse media such as sculpture, drawing, painting and music, Life in the Vessel investigates the psychological effects of long distance voyages through time and space on the human mind.
