This two day course will cover the principles of life casting. Starting from the initial process of sketching, gradually moving onto practical techniques you will explore representation of the human body through sculpture.
About
The course will cover:
Day 1: Fragment body casting in alginate from a model. Sketches for a Sculpture.
Day 2: Sculpt using body casts. Photography session.
This course will encourage you to be ambitious and make ephemeral work that is conceptually and structurally sound.
Each student will leave with the knowledge of how to use alginate and will gain a professional photograph of their sculpture for their portfolio.
Open to all levels including beginners.
It is essential to wear old clothes and strong footwear.
