This selection of work provides a glimpse into The Human Limpet Project, Helen Garbett’s long term art-based research venture which focuses on those familiar single-shelled, conical sea-snails commonly found gripping tightly to rocky shorelines.
About
Limpets may seem inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but this is not the case. If given careful, prolonged attention, room to express themselves and an engaged, openminded audience they raise all sorts of questions about the habitual ways by which we know the more-than-human and anthropogenic world, whilst at the same time revealing a richly entangled, potentially transformative human-limpet story which unfolds over many thousands of years.
If you would like to share some limpet information, knowledge or experiences with Helen please complete a postcard and leave it in the box.
